Here is one that you don't see everyday. A pleasantly toned Sacagawea proof. I never thought I would ever buy one of these, until I saw this.

Unfortunately, ALL the Sacs are going to look like that. Actually, about half of mine already do!!

I think that looks really nice. Most of the sacs have turned a ugly brown color while this one seems to be a much deeper gold. It looks very nice.

Lehigh, I think Pocket Change may have been speaking from an increase in supply standpoint.

or maybe, like myself, he doesnt appreciate toning. I would much rather see the coin as it was intended, with a crisp clean image. to me, toning ruins it.

I'm with you. But to the market graders, I think we've already established, if it's pretty enough, and undetectable enough so as to not be taken as AT, it raises the actual grade, these days, too...

I don't particularly like toning, but even I have to admit that Sac looks pretty neat. All mine have toned, heck, even my newer Pres dollars have begun toning, but it's always the same dirty brass color, not any nice rainbows. Gotta say, I've never seen a Sac rainbow like that. Nice find.

Here is a mint state example. I don't like it as much as the proof, but I still think it is pretty cool.

Reverse Holdered Sacagawea, that is a little different.

What's that doing in a PCGS slab? I have noticed almost all your coins are NGC - is there a reason for that? I do think the white background in the NGC holder does highlight the toning.
Not knowing the mind of tone collectors though need to ask this. Do certain slabs bring higher prices with the tone collectors? I notice PCGS slabs sell sometimes 2-3X the same coin in a NGC slab so if I what to slab my coins for easy disposal or for my heirs I would have to go with PCGS. Personnally though as a Jefferson Variety Collector I preferred the Old ANACS I think they treated the series and variety collector the best (Just not sure about ANACS anymore though).

First, I would like to say that you are very observant. I do collect mostly NGC coins because I think the white background gives a better contrast for toned coins. That does not mean that if I find an attractive coin in a PCGS holder that I will not buy it.

Additionally, I am a member of the NGC registry which allows both NGC and PCGS coins whereas the PCGS registry only allows PCGS coins. The NGC star designation brings extra registry points, which is another reason I like NGC graded coins.

I do not believe that the plastic has anything to do with the value of a toned coin. I am sure that every toned collector probably has a preference for either NGC or PCGS but I can assure you that the reason is not related to resale value. Here is a very sexy PCGS graded Morgan Dollar for you enjoyment.

It is the only PCGS Morgan that I own by the way.
