I guess some people like to pay a premium for a pig in a poke.

 Whoa!! Yeah, doesn't that seem a little fishy?? Roll after roll with VDBs on the ends?? Unsearched? Riiiiigghht.

Did you look at the feedback? Looks like no matter if they paid 150.00 or 400.00 for a roll, the people were happy. They all look like big gambles that didn't pay off.

One guy paid 350.00 and was excited about getting a dozen 1909 vdbs. Hope they were nice. Looks like most got less.

Another seller started this a few months ago with different key dates like 1909-S or 1914-D showing on the end rolls. The rolls sold way more than the key date was worth because the buyer hoped to find more rare dates in the so-called unsearched rolls.

I was wondering when a copy-cat would emerge. 9 feedbacks. It's not even funny.

If memory serves me correctly, didn't that original seller have rolls with the one end 1909-S and the opposite end VDB. Basically, he was insinuating that the entire roll could be 1909-S VDB's. Scumbag

Yep. I started to say that this is much like buying lottery tickets, but at least there is some chance that you will win with a lottery ticket.

Paying that much for one roll of wheats is just throwing good money after bad.

    who

I can't imagine who would pay for this obvious crud. I suppose that after they recieve the coins they use the ms 09 vdb to scratch off there winning lottery tickets.

How would a person know it was a 1909 AND vdb without searching the roll?

The VDB reverse was only in 1909. During the 1909 year, they removed the initials from the reverse and never put them back. So if you have a VDB reverse, it's a 1909.

I've got enough for at least 30 rolls.

Should I ruin my name and reputation in a few weeks time?

Yeah. It's sad really. Stick the VDB on one end, maybe a S-mint in the teens on the other and say it's "Unsearched". Sandwiched in between are the 40s and 50s, but people will still take a chance at getting the 1909S VDB and pay a lot.

    It's sick.

**edit Oh yeah and I forgot to say you must mention you acquired your 'unsearched' rolls from an estate owned by a 90 year old man who collected coins all life and hoarded them until he passed.**

Hey!!!! Thanks Steve. I've finally figured out all these threads lately.....

    Let's see.......

Ok, it's the old men who collect and hoard all these coins throughout the years. Eventually, they die.

That leaves the wife. YES! That's the 95 year old lady with a cane cashing in all this guy's coins at laundramats, 7-11's and banks! SHE'S the one that has been giving all these people moral dilemmas!

Whew! I'm glad that's straightened out.

I thought one tried with a 1909-S Indian Head Cent at the end of one roll as well?

Yes. It has all been tried, and succeeded for these sellers. I have been watching unsearched coins on ebay since 2002, and most are the same old scam.
