Looks like a Barber Dollar. Do all of these "old coins" you have look like this? If so, list the dates on them for us.

    Thanks,

    -Bobby

    hi

yes i have 5 of them and they are all in the same condition as the pic---the dates are 1879-1880-1901-1921-and another 1921---so what do ya think?

Sorry to disagree, but the picture is of a Morgan dollar ,, I cant make out the mint mark or if there is one, the reverse pic is a little dark.In order to give an estimate of value a little bigger and brighter pics will be needed,,

Looks like it might be a VF (very fine circulated condition), maybe even higher, but the pictures are too small to tell for sure, especially the reverse. Do any of the other Morgans have a mint mark (located just above the D in Dollar). And yes, more and larger pictures would be very helpful. Best news is that it doesn't look like this particular Morgan has been cleaned (cleaning is Bad). Depending on date, mint, condition, and varieties (if any), one or two of the coins might have some value.

    Hi Again

OK I WAS WRONG IMAGINE THAT!!---3 OF THEM HAVE MARKS THE 1921 HAS AN S ABOVE THE D IN DOLLAR---THE 1879 HAS AN S--AND THE 1901 HAS AN O--THE OTHER 2 DO NOT HAVE MARKS THEIR DATES ARE 1921 AND 1880

OK, based on your information and what I can see of the pics, the value of the Morgans isn't all that much, maybe somewhere between about 14 and 25 dollars each, maybe higher if the condition of the coins turns out to be a little better, not much less if they aren't. They are definitely sellable on eBay if you wanted to part with them, but only if you started an auction low (I'd start them at 99 cents) and let them be bid up to their natural levels. There is a fairly good market for uncleaned circulated Morgans without significant circulation damage (e.g. rim dings, other defacing marks); if the 1879 is any indication of the others, then they are nice examples.

Whatever you do, do NOT try to "improve" their value by cleaning or otherwise altering them from their present state. This would ruin whatever value they have now and probably make them worth only melt value.

Also, no need to use caps here. You're in friendly company. :)

    hi

thanks so much for all your help--if we do sell them do you think we should sell them as a group or seperately?

Im glad that Fred got the info to you, I work nights and wasnt able to complete the thread.

If I was to list them I would list them seperately and give the buyer a good shipping discount if they bought two or all three.

Do you have any idea how ticked off Mr. Morgan would be if he read that? :D
