What is wrong with this dime?

    So I was going through some penny rolls at work when I found this. I don't know if it's a wrong planchet but that is why I'm here. Any help b would b appreciated. I took the pics in natural light with a regular dime for contrast.

    Your coin probably spent some time in the dirt. Environmental damage.

    Yes, environmental damage. Looks like it may have been in the dirt for a while. @paddyman98 has a ton of coins from metal detecting that look like your dime.

    Thank you. I metal detect as well. I wish you could see it bc I really don't think that's what it is but I don't know much either lol. It almost looks gold. ‍♀️

    Excessive heat can make a coin change color also.

    The dime is normal for a coin that has been exposed to the environment so it's damaged by the environment.

    practically all of the coins I find dirt fishing with my metal detector look like
    paddyman's too.
