Saw this coin and I had to have it. It's absolutely beautiful in hand. It's also a pretty cool overdate - 1834/4. So go ahead and guess the grade that PCGS gave it. I'll bet absolutely none of you get this one "right."
I would grade it XF45 and I think PCGS also did so, but wouldn’t be shocked if it got an AU50. V. nice coin, BTW. D.
I'm going a bit off the wall here, but will give it AU58. I don't think it should be that high, but I see luster and what might pass for wear on stars, etc., could be a weak strike/worn die. Steve
You can't ruin my day - 78 degrees and sunny here in Florida, no yard work to do, the golf tournament on TV, wife is out with her friends, adult beverage in hand, nesting pair of red-tail hawks flying around my oak trees and about to put the wife's cats outside. And this morning at the diner I: 1) Argued about the death penalty with my friend the judge, and won, and 2) Showed and gave history on my new Hibernia Farthing to my Irish friend. BTW, love your posts.
I see no reason for what I believe is a desirable specimen, but I've received unbelievable explanations as "DETAILS" or MS61 for a coin as that. Please tell us, as the suspense is overwhelming. Thanks for sharing!
