I do like the SBA coins, but Susan B. Anthony herself remains pretty controversial to some. For one, without getting into potentially murky waters, she wasn't exactly known for her tolerance. Though the upcoming centennial doesn't mark the event that allowed everyone to vote, it's still a landmark in democracy, though admittedly incomplete.
Long line of 'temperance' disorder in my family. We would have not agreed, but I applaud her cause for women's rights. Used to pass by the 'Historical Site' on my way to Buffalo on the NY State thru-way. Never stopped because I didn't want to stop.....(drinking).
I've always viewed them as too European looking with that rim choice. None the less, an under appreciated series by most. For the moment, I have them all but they are still in the mint/proof sets. I'll get to them individually at some point though.
What do you mean - individually at some point? I have all and some duplicates still in packages. Do you pull them out and put them in 2X2's?
Thanks for posting all the images of your SBA's!!! I have what I consider a complete set of SBA's. At least as far as I define the set. Here is a list of what I call a complete SBA type set. I have multiple coins of many of the types. I indicate "where" each coin is - my entire set is a bit dispersed but the 12 non-proofs fill up a Dansco small dollar page nicely. 18 coins total 12 non-proof (Type 1-12) 6 proof (Type p1-p6)
A car wash in my town uses these and the presidential/sacagawea dollars as it's tokens. I been farming it for all the SBA and the well circulated coins that have been ran through for a while. Don't see many circulated dollar coins anywhere.
