I recently bought this proof 1942 Quarter, PCGS PR66. The only pic on the listing was the TrueView photo:

To me, that photo doesn’t look very appealing. But I noticed the price seemed like it wasnt rising and I ended up with winning bid of $74. I am sure that was due to Trueview pic. I really wasnt pleased about winning, but then I got the coin. It looks extremely pretty and white to me and couldnt be happier. A little purple toning to the right of the 2 and some light toning on the periphery of the reverse. I have attempted my photos below. So did they nail that Trueview photo, or is it just me?

Not half bad. Congrats on the win, old son. :)

Interesting. Trueviews usually make the coin look better than reality, in this case, looks like they made the coin look worse. I like your first set of photos for the color. Obviously where the true views are still superior to your own photos is resolution. having multiple sets of pictures like this of one coin allow for a better understanding of what the coin will look like.

I always like to look up the coin on PCGS to see if there are true views, Even when places like Great Collections have their own great photos. It gives me a fuller understanding of the coin before I place a bid.

Several of the PCGS coins I own don't look in hand like they do in the Trueviews.
