Well, after seeing the bueatifully toned War Nickels of LeHigh96 in another post I decided to see what I had in terms of tones nickels so there will be several post with pic to follow.
This has given me a better appreciation of coin photography as well, not always easy to get a good picture of the toning!

Nice batch of coins - I like the overall golden tone some nickels get.

Nice colors! I like when they start to turn blue. I really like the 50 in the last pic.

    Nickelman,

That 1944-S is very pretty, please show us the reverse. I also really like the 1952 and the 1950. Beautiful coins. Just so you know, you opened the door, here come my rainbow Jeffersons (not war nickels).

    • 1938 NGC MS66 (Top Left)
    • 1939-D Reverse of 38 NGC MS67 (Top Center)
    • 1940-D NGC MS67 6FS (Top Right)
    • 1941 NGC MS67* (Center Left)
    • 1941-D NGC MS67 6FS (Center Center)
    • 1941-D NGC MS67* 5FS (Center Right)
    • 1946-D NGC MS66 (Bottom Left)
    • 1952-S NGC MS67 (Bottom Center)
    • 1964 NGC PF67 (Bottom Right)
The 1941-D NGC MS67* 5FS is my latest acquisition from Heritage. I don't even have the coin yet so the photo seen is a Heritage photo. I really hope that this coin will make it into my "a good coin photo makes all the difference thread." I paid handsomely for this coin, but I believe that this coin will be an absolute monster in hand and am hoping that my photos will do the coin justice. I promise, as soon as I get it, you will all see it.

If anyone wants to see a bigger photo of any of these coins, all you have to do is ask.

Wow! That 46D is spectacular can we see a larger picture?
I'll try to get a picture of the reverse on the 44S and 50D.

    Here it is!

As stunning as the obverse of this coin is, the reverse is supercool. Three different shades of green at the center, a fingerprint, and sweet rainbow rim toning.

Thank you! It is a very nice coin but I am very suspicious of all of these types of proofs. It wouldn't surprise me if this coin is AT. I bought it at a pretty reasonable price and it is very attractive regardless of its origin.

Here is the 44S . The reverse toning is not as nice as the obverse.
The 50D is a weak strike and only bought it becuase of the toning!

Oh no, that strike is a shame. From the obverse, I was thinking you had at least an MS66 and was envisioning it in an NGC holder (and in my collection). The 1944-S is sweet, beautiful iridescent toning. SOOOOO NICE
