Okay so I have no way of telling if my coins are valuable. One of my 1965 dimes has some brown on it, but the other does not. Are they worth anything? Also is my quarter worth anything (1776-1976)?
That's his sig line, that shows up in every post he makes. It wasn't directed at you in any insulting way at all I'm 100% sure. You asked for the value, and he gave you the value of those particular coins in this message (which is his full original message): Just a short, cool toned response is how I took it. Phoenix
Cents Just a question: Do you think that the fading of the "oF" and some other letters on these pennies are from wear and handling?
lisaray - You definitely took my sig line in the wrong way. First of all, while most folks seem to think that what I am saying in that sig line is that I will share my knowledge, that is not what it is intended to mean at all. The true purpose of that sig line is as an encouragement for everyone to share their knowledge with others. Every post I have ever made on this forum or any other for the past 13 years has had that sig line attached to it. Now as to your most recent question, the most likely reason for the weak OF is a grease filled die.
Are those considered factory errors? Are there lots of these in circulation? How would you grade these? Are they worth anything, if not I may just put them back in my penny jar.
They are extremely common and add no value to the coin. They are kind of neat though and many people collect them for that reason.
