I went to the bank today to deposit my searched half dollar and as I deposit them the employee asks me what I was doing with so many. (I work in the shopping center of the bank so Im in there a lot) So I say I go through them looking for different dates to pull and sometimes get silver coins which I always keep. She is like oh ok and how they can order boxes for me from there (Ive been going to a different bank then deposit them else where). So I thank her and she says how she has some silver quarters and if I would like them. I say sure. Apparently a customer depositied a roll of silver quarters and the employee told me how she already took some home and couldnt take any more so she offered me 7 quarters. I was very happy. I asked about other stuff, but nothing today although they have gotten silver dollars in the past. So today I got 3 1964 1 1962 1 1961 1 1954-s 1 1952 Ill try to put pictures up later.
Very nice finds! The same thing happened this week to my friend that works with me. He roll searches Kennedy half dollars. He went to the bank on Tuesday and asked for 3 10 dollar rolls of half's. About 85 percent of the coins where dated 1964 and in AU to BU condition the rest where dated 65 and 66 with 2 clad coins in the mix. Went back to the bank on Wednesday and got 2 more rolls and the same thing happened only this time there was a Franklin and some 67 dated Kennedy's in the rolls. So he goes back to the bank on Thursday and gets the las roll of half's that the bank has and the same thing happens again. He's one very happy guy. Lou
That's great, I love it when you find understanding tellers that let you know if they might have something good. :thumb: by the way, did you find any silver in the halves?
Wow lucky! The box I just searched out of all the rolls only one had 2 silver coins. 1 1952 Franklin and 1 1967 Kennedy. In the past I have even gotten walkers which was exciting and a commerative silver half. Hopefully better luck next time.
