This has become a very consistent reoccurring pattern on CT. A new member pops up with a Dare You or Hidden Meaning screen name. Show or say something ridiculous then bash all the people that respond, with pretty much the same language over and over as the previous antagonizers.
Let's kill the idea that it's a "shadow". If it were said shadow then all the other raised design would show shadows, which they do not. The shadow is due to it being lower on the coin's face, aka a cut.
Just another new member that gets mad at everyone when he learns the truth about his coin. Normal stuff.
I joined a while back (turns out its 3 years now, yikes!) because I was researching a coin I had for value, and then a question about another coin. I received a lot of answers and it was great. I learned something. People told me things that I didn't know and it saved me time, increased my knowledge, and was nice to know that there are people willing to pass on their knowledge and experience. I'm still learning every day, especially in the ancient lot, and mostly play the "Guess what the experts will say game" when someone presents a coin and question. I rarely give an opinion as I know expert opinions will be presented. So I mostly have fun sniping with comments on general life stuff. So, it befuddles me as to why these people like to show a coin and rattle off curse remarks to the people that are trying to help them.
Hello: I just joined 20 minutes ago. I sent a quick message to Home Office (?) asking where do I post a profile to advise other members a little about me....Ha, ha, I am old (79) and a newbie in diapers. I have 10 coins in my "collection" I joined ANS a month ago. Then I sent out 3 emails. Two were answered and one I thought was special from a Mr. Josh Moran of CIVITAS GALLERIES. He advised to join ANA and to check out a few boards. I opted on this one because I was intriqued on the banter between one collector who believes he has a rare coin worth a lot of money and another person who seems to know more then him, advising that it is an altered coin. Is this post from 2016? Or is it current as above that advises :Yesterday at 10:16 PM ? One baby step at a time. I do not even know where I am.
Just me again (Trashdigger) same as above. I did not have proper credentials to send. Now I think I do.
And what would those credentials be? Ignorance isn't a credential but sure applies to this coin and your statements. Inept would also apply to your ability to process reasonable thinking. What kind of credentials does it take to be a troll?
Pickins, are you confusing trashdigger with the Bobdemon person? As far as I know this is Trashdigger's first posting?
Yup, two posts back to back about trying to learn and navigate. Is there a place where new members introduce themselves and blab a bit? Pickin and Grinin read the post above the post you replied to. Thanks. Will check back tomorrow.
There is an INTRODUCTION forum and a GENERAL DiSCUSSION ( caps to indicate the name in the list under Forums in the top blue header) and not shouting. Jim
Hey Bob, If you pay the postage and the cost of the coins, I'll make a few of these mint errors up for you. Since you already have one with "X's" I'll pick some other letters for you.
Leave it to @Insider to show up on a thread like this. Here is an original EOR Kennedy. I wish I could have captured the luster, better than I did. But, it shows a close example of MS looks like. The OP's coin, show's every aspect of an altered coin.
Insider popping in reminded me to look up ICG volume deal for same DD, but FUN expired and no volume deal on errors varieties mentioned. Come on insider get a special label for us! Jim
We have a special label for Bob's coin already: WE USE IT FOR COUNTERFEITS, ALTERED COINS AND THOSE CARVED UP COINS WITH "X's" THAT SOME FOLKS THINK ARE STRUCK WITH "CANCELLED" DIES.
"desertgem, posted: "Insider popping in reminded me to look up ICG volume deal for same DD, but FUN expired and no volume deal on errors varieties mentioned. Come on insider get a special label for us!" OK here is the deal... We have a new submission form. At the lower left under Tier of Service is: Other (Approval Code_________________). Members of CT and Mods can send in US coins & errors for $10 each valued up to $3000. Foreign coins are $15. To get this deal you need to put Coin Talk and your "handle." in the blank. Example: CT Insider PS Add "Skip please call" and I'll discuss your coins before they are shipped.
Is there a limit on number of coins per shipment and assume shipping etc. same levels? And thanks! In your honor: Jim
