Unsafe Safe Deposit Boxes?

    Yeah, most of the banks that are opening up now have sans Safety Deposit boxes now.

    Of course I don't have to worry about my goods....I keep them "offsite" at another facility. :whistle:

    watch the video and read the article.

    The ABC news reporter states that after 3 years of inactivity, they consider boxes "abandonded" and that you should make contact, and check your box at least once a year.

    The person in the article has receipts proving that she paid her fees. She held a savings account, and her name and address was in documents inside the box.

    They are hiring 3rd party private contractors to seize the property and they often make little to no effort to contact you.

    Again i'm not trying to scare anyone, but this is serious and I believe it needs to be brought to the attention to people here at cointalk.

    IMHO, too. My Krugerrands go in the box because they're just a bullion investment, and who wants to look at those, anyway? My coins stay in my house right next to my insurance policy (my firearm collection).
