Would any one be familiar with coin shops in the Baton Rouge and Covington area? There are a few I found listed online but I wanted to know if any one had any recommendations. Right now I will just be an annoying customer looking for stuff to organize what I already have because I don’t think I’m educated enough to buy yet. And my wife is getting tired of looking at my “pile of crap”.

If you just want stuff to organize your collection, shop on-line. It's easier and you'll find a better selection. I'd use - JP's Corner

I agree. Especially if you've got a list of stuff to buy as that will lessen the damage done by shipping costs. The couple coin shops I go to are very expensive with supplies. If I just want to go in and browse around, I'll usually by some 2x2's or whatever, but I would never use them as my principal source.

Thanks for the advice this pretty much what I do with paintball equipment. Go to the local shops for the guns for the free in store warranty and the internet for the small stuff.

Back to the subject at hand. Would any one have a suggestions on what I should use to organize; I was thinking about using vinyl or Mylar flips in a binder page to organize my starter coins that my grandmother gave me years ago. I figured this would be an easy way to pull out the best of what I have and get into a cohesive format. And it would also allow me to upgrade the coins as I acquire new ones.

Of coarse I have seen people call flips the devil because of wear issues, same with 2x2s, and albums. Every one seems to like the individual plastic containers but I don’t want to dump them containers that are worth more then the coin.

Bah, I am probably just over analyzing this whole thing.
