I went to the bank today to get a box of pennies and searched it and found the following:
    -1937-P cent
-1943 steel cent(my first steel cent)
    -1945?-? cent(Unrecognizable)
    -1947-S cent
    -1951-D cent
    -1954-D cent
    -1957-D cent
    -1958-D cent
    -3 foreign coins
I never found a steel cent or had one in my collection. Steel pennies tend to be a hard find.
The steel cent is at the bottom of the photos.

Plus, how many times have I (or you) thought we had a silver Washington Quarter, when it was a Canadian quarter! :banghead::sour::dead:

Funny you should say that......I noted that tonight while going through quarters.....The D's are in much better shape. I'm in florida so I get a good mix of D's and P's........D's are usually easy to spot with the nice shine.

I got some CWRs of quarters from my bank yesterday and looks like I got part of a collection dump. 1 roll was all 1977 BU/AU quarters and the other was 1978 same thing. Some of both rolls were nicely toned. Mixed P and D”s

Another side note. Found my first SA Missions quarter in a roll today. Not a W, but I had yet to find one in the wild. Odd since I HAVE run across RONR quarters in the wild, and they were issued later then SA Missions.
I also Got my roll of BAT quarters from the mint today (ATB American Samoa). Very Happy to have them. I LOVE the reverse design!

    Yep, I get around maybe 60/40 D to P here and sometimes when I see a '19 reverse I can tell if it's a P and not a D or W before turning.

Got a few neat finds this weekend including my 1st 75%er. Kind of a WW2 era themed hunt with '42S and '45D Walkers, '44S Philippines and a WW2 commemorative. Plus 2 more (not pictured) car wash tokens :)

Yes exactly, same here. It's obviously something with the Denver dies or the striking process.

Steel pennies are only rare because coin counting/rolling machines remove them and any other magnetic coins. RIP.

    Just a follow-up to post #42832. Here's a comparison to what I see between the P's & D's:
