neat story about 1876 seated half dollar

    I assume this is just a police sketch as the coin has already been stolen for the purpose of cloning to make more fakes, right???

    Just to clarify, I personally think OP's find is an awesome one and I second the motion that it just might be a prime site for going back with a metal detector.

    Ok. based on the scan - it's obviously the real deal. I saw a coin like that in Kalamazoo back in the 1970's. It's possible that it was very late at night and I may not remember all the details.... But the commode sticks in my mind..... :)

    Now I have to ask do we know if the person who lived there in the 1800s was not a forger of coins :D Sorry guy's I just had to do it :eek:
