Here’s my latest newp. Let’s see how you all do grading it! It’s in an ANACS soap bar slab. Vote in the poll what you think the label says, and comment what you think it should grade.

PS: some of you may have seen this coin for sale before. Please sit this one out if you know the answer. :)

Hard to guess from the photo. There seems to be some break in the luster on Lib's cheek and also on the Eagle wingtips. This would argue for an AU-58. However the services probably won't give a coin with that great luster all over a 58 designation. Also in my recollection, AU-58 coins look really circulated.

Thus possibly 62 to 63. However this is ANACS which I recall is less rigourous. Also if there's no rub or handling friction, the minimal marks and luster is consistent with a high ms grade. Thus I my guess is ms-65.

As a disclaimer I really only collect foreign. Bvt I'd love to get a nice Barber one day which isn't out of an old silver scrap bin.

Old soap box slab I am guessing AU-58.
The toning has covered up some of the details.

Great guesses so far. I think I'm going to leave this up through this weekend and post the reveal on Sunday night.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I see what looks like rub on many of the high points. AU-58 is my guess.

I voted 63, but the more I look at it, the more I want to bump it up. A sweet coin that I'd be proud to own.

From a phone, I do not see wear in the places I would expect to see it. I will guess 64, though a 63 would not surprise me.

Voted 63 a couple days ago. Could be a super slider though. From the OPs original post I'm thinking he doesn't agree with the assigned grade?
Possibly in a 58 holder, but I think it goes in the 63 range today.

Some great guesses so far. :) Givling this one last bump, and I might end it before tomorrow night if there doesn’t seem to be much more interest.

The details in the feathers on the reverse and the olive branch on the obverse I would say make it a 65.

    Time for the reveal:

This was a little tricky, but, in the end, the results were about what I expected. I think this coin is an easy 63 today. Thanks everyone for your guesses. :)

What's my prize? I was the first to say Ms 62.

I'll just settle for the knowledge that I'm participating in this great Forum with a bunch of Most Excellent People.
