    The tolerance for the Copper cents is 0.13 grams by the US Mint but that coin shows a lot of wear so I would says its all natural wear and tear.

    It looks porous, corroded. Between that and the wear, your weight seems spot on.

    When in doubt, calibrate the scale. The portable ones like you show, and also I have , can if moved, get off calibration. I usually calibrate if I get a weight out of limits to be sure. Jim

    There's a lot of wear on that coin and it could be a thinner than normal planchet but it's not enough to make a difference.
