Okay I finally got the last two groups from the NYINC and am drowning in a sea of Fed Ex boxes and bubble wrap. Three of the coins are my Triton XXIII Lots The fourth is from the so called Triton XXIII E Auction and the last two are from the floor Syracuse Ar Tetradrachm 466-460 B.C.Boehringer 438 Triton XXIII Lot 117 17.40 grms 26 mm I just loved the style of this coin. The strike the lack of wear or die problems I thought just outstanding Needless to say No bargain Larissa Stater 356-342 B.C. HGC 409 Triton XXIII Lot 238 12.12 grms 23 mm This one has some issues The reverse is a bit weak but the style of the obverse is wonderful Septimius Severus Ar Denarius as Divus RIC 191c Triton XXIII Lot 466 3.41 grms 18 mm I wanted to upgrade my coin of this type so I was happy to get this one. Vespasian Ae Dupondius Rv Felicitas 73 A.D. RIC 581 CNG E Auction 460 Lot 619. 11.93 grms 26 mm Saw this coin at the CNG table at the show. Decided I really liked it. Faustina II Ae Sestertius Rv. Fecunditas standing RIC 1635. 23.74 grms 31 mm This coin is absolutely stunning in hand. Natural patina Not messed with No bargain Sidon Double Shekel Abd' Ashtart I 363-362 B.C. 25.57 grms 26 mm This coin is a lot less than perfect but it has a strong obverse galley and the reverse is more or less reasonable. I have been looking for one for years and while I would have liked one that was stronger on both sides especially the reverse.... I guess I just got tired of waiting. Mind you a pedigree going back to 1974 didn't hurt either.
Amazing new coins! And you are so right about that Larissa having a wonderful obverese. Though, I think she's making eyes at me...
