I won this on ebay just thought I'd share. the only reason why I bought it was the color http://i4.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/f9/15/6bca_1.JPG
Very beautiful coin. One thing you need to be very careful about with toned coins is artificially toned coins. There are a ton of threads here about detecting natural and artificial toning. If you like toning, there is nothing wrong with picking up some AT coins in my opinion. But, be careful because AT coins aren't worth the same kind of premiums that naturally toned coins are. I don't personally collect toned coins specifically so I'm no expert in them. Therefore, I can't say that this is AT or NT for sure. It does look somewhat artificial to me...but again, I'm not an expert.
An untrained eye will say it is artificial because it looks too perfect to be natural. I have an untrained eye however.
Not a problem I got it for $.99 and $3 shipping at 4am so not to many people were up that late to bid. and I had placed my bid at the last 10 seconds of the auction. If its real toned or AT I dont care it looks cool to me and its silver so hay in a couple of years I will get my money back in melt value. :mouth:
Wow, an excellent deal! And if its AT(not saying it is), it desn't matter, as long as you like the coin.
Oh yeah, for that kind of money I would have snatched it up as well. I think it's a good buy. I just wanted to caution you because I see coins on eBay that are clearly AT sell for large premiums and they just aren't worth it.
