Whenever I come across a recent (or older) thread about some RPM or DDs I get motivated to go through my coins to try and find a similar coin. So I believe I've found a 1930 S/S LWC and would like your opinions on it. It looks like an RPM02 Stage C but very hard for me to determine. Your thoughts?
Yes, it is an RPM (002). This is a link to the MDS for this: https://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1938&die_id=1938s1mm002&die_state=mds Look for the markers and toggle back and forth to the different diestate listings. You'll dial in on that detail too. Nice find!!
PS - conserve that coin (don't clean it...conserve it!). The verdigris looks superficial at this point, but you don't want it to worsen.
Put a drop of Verdi-care on the date and MM with not a lot of improvement. That green stuff is on pretty good. I'll give it an acetone bath and see if things improve.
I would do the distilled water, acetone bath, and finish with the VerdiCare. It'll help to stabilize the verdigris even if it doesn't carry it off the face of the coin.
