I got this note from a friend of mine a while ago. At the time i remember questioning him about its authenticity. He basicaly laughed and even gave me a pick number for it. Now, i dont remember the number he gave me, but i dont think its right. I labled it as P-124. But in the book, P-124 is rare with NO price values listed. P-124 is also an over-printed note, while the note i have does nto have the over-print. So i looked back in time, meaning i looked at older notes. I did find an example with P-110 that was very similar to the note i have. It is basically the original example of P-124 before the over-print... almost! I question it, because of the signatures. The signature for P-110 is different then the note i have, but the note i have matches the signatures on P-124.

    Am i missing something???

    Thanks Lou!!

But the note on that link is mismarked. The 5 peso note from the 1958-1959 issueance has an overprint and The Pick # for that 5 peso note is P-119. But yes, like P-124, it does match the signatures. The note on that link is exactly like mine, but neither mine or the note from the link are P-119 or P-124.

The only other picture that I could find is of P-110.

yep :( thats my problem. I have found images of P-110 that show the 1 signature, but P-110 is listed as having TWO. i just cant seem to find any info as to if the note i have is the other sig for P-110.. or another note entirely.

another problem is A LOT of notes posted on the net are mis-attributed. it makes trying to attribute notes i have rather difficult. What makes it even more difficult, is the books i have "the standard catalog of world paper money" has a ton of inconsistancies and errors all over it as well. Trying to nail down the errors in the book, when so many notes on the internet are atrributed wrong as well .. it just makes it that much more difficult!

I need to find a cointalk member whi lives in chile :D

Your in better shape than I'm in, I don't even have a world paper money catalog. I looked in the South American e bay (mercado libre) with no luck for the attribution numbers. I did find this cite that I thought was interesting, with P 110 listed. http://aes.iupui.edu/rwise/countries/chile.html

lol i check Ron Wise's site all the time in attempts to verify or nail down an attribution. The problem is, i dont think HE attributes all the notes. ALOT of his notes are mis-attributed. Alot of times, he will have notes listed with the same attribute, yet have different notes pictured. He has a huge collection of images, so i am sure it must be tough to stay on top of it all. Even still, it is one of my first online stops when i am trying to find info!!!
