I think this dime has some potential for being an error. I've been wrong every time so far but, I'm still new. There is doubling on both sides and some of the words are not ledgable. Idk if wear or never was. But I got as close and clear pic as I could of the p/d.
Welcome to Coin Talk. Not a P over D. In 1995 the mint mark was no longer being hand punched into each individual die.
I was thinking incorrectly when I thought p/d then? It just doesn't look right. I think I need more education on coins. Lol
Thank you for the coin talk. I appreciate all the help. Im learning more every time I ask about a coin. I have more...
Do you have a copy of the Red Book? If not, you should get a copy and start reading it. IMO it's The Bible of coin collecting. The official title is "A Guide Book of United States Coins" Whitman Publishing. It's loaded with so much information.
Welcome to CT. After many years I am still learning, so much to learn about coins. There are many knowledgeable members here to help. I do recommend that you do as Thomas Mozillo said and a get Red Book.
Yes, if you don't already have the Red Book, buy one, even one a few years old as the prices in even the most recent is just a rough guideline and already out of date by the time it's published. They are packed full of information you can educate yourself with. I already welcomed you in another post, but welcome again.
Not an over mintmark. Just wear on a 25 year old coin. It takes time to learn so just hang in there, you're doing fine.
Go through enough boxes or whatever determinations and you'll begin to learn quite a lot about different coins! It can be confusing in the beginning, but don't worry, it'll get easier with experience. Like everyone is saying, doesn't matter how long you've been collecting, everyone is still learning all the time!
If you're looking for an easy error to spot, the 2019 P nickels have a lot of double dies. My profile picture is an example of one. You will be looking in the door of the monticello for an extra bit of frame. Happy hunting!
