Welcome to the forum, Bill! I love how many new members are joining every day. It's very exciting! Well, it's obviously a BIG estate, because otherwise she would have to be buying other people's junk and just calling it "estate finds". Now, you don't think she's be that dishonest, do you?
Thanks for the welcome,susanlynn9.I've been lurking on here for a while. Alot of good info on this board. Wish I would have found this board before I started buying coins off of Ebay.
Quick update on Savannah Scammer: She listed 3 more auctions for National Mint replicas and 1 St. Gaudens plated copy and didn't follow the new policy. I reported all 4 of those this morning.
I also reported two of her "Proof" Morgans: the 1884-S and 1889-CC, neither of which has "copy" nor "reproduction" in either the title nor description. Both already have substantial bids on them. I suspect eBay won't get around to cancelling them until it's too late. I didn't have the time this morning to go through all her auctions to pick out other obvious copies. My fault; I should have looked at her auctions earlier in the week when they were newly listed. I think maybe I'll put her on my "favorite sellers" (yuk) list so that I'll be alerted sooner.
You didn't miss anything. I've been looking through her auctions all week except for Thurs/Fri. The ones that are in violation were just listed on Thursday and today. She is only running them for 1-3 days - probably in the hope that no one will see them in time to report them. She has no other copies running right now that haven't already been reported, so nothing is getting by. Remember that even though an auction is ended, eBay will still act on a complaint. This is not just lip service on eBay's end; I've seen it happen.
The Savannah Scammer is no more!! I just wanted to let everyone know that the Savannah Scammer has been NARU'd as of today. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=pjd1966
"Member Profile: pjd1966 (6199) Feedback Score: 6199 Positive Feedback: 98.5% Members who left a positive: 6289 Members who left a negative: 98 All positive feedback received: 26892 Noticed how this dealer had a 98.5% rating and was a power dealer. Hey it I was new to this game, I would think that this high percentage rating and title of power dealer meant something. Hey Susan, nice to see you name again.
It is good to hear that the scammer from Savannah,Georgia (U.S.A. that is,not the Caucasian country) has finally been NARU'd.Did you know she tried to get back onto Ebay again with another identity? Well, she got busted again,as she had used the same postal address, which gave her away.
She also used the ID "jdonnellysr" (either her husband or father-in-law), the same misleading and fuzzy pictures of coins in 2x2s with "BU" scrawled on most, the same handwriting, the same vague "estate" description, and a few other commonalities with her old user ID. She was pretty easy to spot; her new ID lasted only 11 hours. Now she's on Overstock.com and has already been reported once. Here's her listings: http://auctions.overstock.com/cgi-bin/auctions.cgi . (Go to this URL - Overstock uses javascript- go to advanced search (upper left), enter seller's name pjd1966.) Her arrogance using the same user ID, pjd1966 means that she was easy to identify once again. She's running out of options.
I had bid on one of those Theresa Thalers. I won the thing but didnt do my homework till after it was over. I found that its fairly easy to tell by the markings if thier original or not. Turned out that it wasnt. It was like from the 1900s or so if memory serves. I emailed the guy and told him Id pay his listing fees, but I wasnt going to be buying the coin as his listing did not state that it was a restrike. I think he knew he was busted, but he did try to say he didnt know. Possible if he was like me and just didnt know enough, but one would think that someone would investigate something like that a little better before selling it. I have a few coins from the 1700s that to me seem to be forgeries. They ''may'' just be the result of a worn out die, but since I dont know for sure I put ''forgery?" on the holder just in case I ever sell them I can alert the buyer that there is a possibilty of their not being authenic. There are just far to many crooks in the world.
Fred,I typed in 'pjd1966',& guess what? There was nothing left regarding her.I think that she has now been busted & NARU'd there as well. Aidan.
It seems she MAY be back on eBay as "estatedoctor". This seller is selling estate stuff and list their location as Savannah, GA. So far no coins, but still has lots of junk with little to know description. It may not be her, but it smells fishy to me.
Hey, this estatedoctor already not a registered member in ebay. That was quick for a new member and this seller has good feedbacks too. wonder why the Not registered User..
