Ok I was talking with a friend who told me that the us mint is going to stop making the new quarters. Im not sure but I think there are a bunch of states still left to come out.

Are we done with all the States? If not then when is the last year that we will be finished making new quarters?

A stupid question I know, but I had a hard time searching it for some reason.

its not a stopid question at all. Yes, the states are Done, or nearly so. BUT!!! the mint is releasing 'territory' quarters as an extension. They are NOT states, but will be on the quarter in 2009. After 2009, it looks like we will have circulating quarters with national park designs for the next 10 years, and possibly 20!!!!!

Alaska & Hawaii will be out this year then the terretory quarters for 2009. At least some people will hear for the first time that the US possesses terretorial lands that we won in previous wars. These culturally diverse lands reap the benefits (of what I'm not exactly sure), of being alligned with the US while still keeping most of their native culture.

You would think eventually, they'd have to get back to minting just a single type of quarter. Eventually, that would be the novelty of it. To get back to what it used to be. We don't need a thousand different types of quarters.

But a whole new design would be nice , no Presidents , back to Miss Liberty .

Unfortunately, politics will most likely keep us from putting Liberty back on our circulating coins. Virginia will fight mightily to keep Washington on the quarter and Jefferson on the nickel. Massachusetts will fight tooth and nail to keep Kennedy on the half. New York and Illinois will do what they must to keep Roosevelt and Lincoln on the dime and cent.

    Sad but true.

Yes, but I have heard that the new half dollars will have the Presidents cousins pets on them. I can't wait for the Labrador Retriever in 2018 !!!

Watch out or some idiotic Congressperson will introduce a bill authorizing:
    • 1¢ designs for each voting precinct
    • 5¢ designs for each official Census Tract
    • 10¢ designs for each City
    • and additional 25¢ designs for each County.
