Nice. There is a World Coins forum here on CoinTalk. Post future threads there for foreign coins also. You might also want to replace those 2x2 holders.. Rusty staples
Always fun to see. My pre-Meiji (and Chinese) coin knowledge is scant so far, but enjoy seeing them. When you post you can click 'full size' when you upload, then the photo is imbedded in the post, which is nice for viewing. Welcome to the forum! And come hang out on the World forum. Lots of nice Chinese and Japanese coins being posted recently.
any guess what this 1790 coin is? Dated obverse side show guy/gal seated with two swords behind holding a arrow pointed down? other side has a bust guy figure with ESPEARL? on top ? Spanish ?
Definitely head over to the World side. There someone will invariably identify it quickly, and then there will be plenty of recommendations for Numista.com as a great way to ID coins. Personally (as I am old) I like checking out the intro section to a paper Krause catalog. There is a 'coin identifier' section that shows some pathognomonic features associating a coin with a country. And, now there is an app for that too...a download I have yet to try, but there are coin id apps now too. In fact, as I type this there is a notice there are new messages posted to this thread. I'm willing to bet on an id, a referral to the world page, and a referral to Numista . Will see if I'm wrong. edited...wrong you were posting more pictures . Oh well.
Its a Conder token from England, county of Warwickshire, city of Stratford. Catalog number is D&H 327 and it comes with seven different edge varieties. Can you see anything on the edge of this piece? It is also a mule of a Stratford obv die with a reverse die from Cheshire
