Hi all, I just recieved in the mail today my 2006-P Franklin-Scientist commemorative dollar, and I have a question about the reverse (I tried to upload pics and it failed). It has a picture of a snake in seperated parts with the words "JOIN, OR DIE" written underneath. I thought that was a little odd, but obviously there's a reason behind it. Anyone care to enlighten me?
It comes from a political cartoon that Franklin published before the American Revolution. Here is some info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Join,_or_Die
Oh yeah, that's it! I got to say, it's one of the more interesting designs I've seen. Definitely a keeper in my book. Thank you Richie
