    I have quite a few questions concerning the worth of a couple examples I have found. We have a copy of a 2004 price guide, but that and the online resources haven't quenched my curiosity.

    1982 D;
    I have found a ton of these in rolls that i went through the past week, I understand there are variations in the size of the dates. I found quite a bit more that are "large" dated opposed to "small", the 04' guide list an MS 63 at $0.05. Is this accurate? The best examples I could find look to be AU58 RD? if that even makes sense. The rest were brown, but in good shape.
    Also, how do you tell if it's copper or zinc material? i looked but couldn't find a decent description concerning this, a very confusing date for me, 7 varieties.

    Here is the Obverse "large" date

    Reverse, strong problem spot beginning with 'S' in states

    side by side with both variations, "large" on the bottom

    summary of the different grades i found them in, there were 20 in all (three worth showing off), another 30 were found with the "small" date

    First off, welcome to the forum. Stick around. There is a lot to learn.
    It sounds reasonable, but good luck finding any offers/sales of coins that low. However, any copper cent is worth about 2.5¢ each metal content only.
    Weight! The copper weigh 3.11 grams and the zinc weigh 2.5 grams. You can get a good description of all of these here -http://www.lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1982.html

    Thanks so much, i'm not at all interested in the sale of these pennies, more interested in completing a set, and a decent looking one at that, but finding Lincoln cents priced more than "Mint" value is notable to me in completing such a thing. I saw a 1982 D Large date Copper example (ms67 Rd) for $50 current bid on ebay.

    Do you think my example would make MS63?

    It might make 63, but my guess is not quite.
