    That’s a die chip in the 9 of the date. Lamination on the bust. Nice.

    The partially-filled loop of the "9" is a common occurrence on Lincoln cent dies. It happens when the post on the die that creates the center of a number, or even a letter, breaks away and allows coin metal to fill the void. Keep in mind that these dies are producing hundreds of thousands of coins, and they can only take so much abuse.

    The anomaly on Lincoln's shoulder looks like a lamination error. ~ Chris

    Here's a lamination I have that's similar to yours. Just a reminder; don't touch or mess with it. Just put it in a 2x2 and protect it.
