I really like your background. I have a few of those myself but never thought of using one like that.

Very nice, Andrew! Is that a horse with foal at the top of that As on the right?

  5. Carausius

Carausius Brother, can you spare a sestertius?

That's Wolf and Twins, and a very lovely example of the type!

Wonderful coins. I have never seen Swedish plate money used as a "tray" before.

I see it now... I'm used to seeing it facing left, and it initially reminded my of the Illyria cow & calf, but it didn't look much like a cow. Thanks for the info!

    Great collection.
I am drawn to the Prow Right Aes Grave. Is that a Sextans? I think I see two dots above the prow and all of the references I see say below the prow.
    Nice Gryphon on your Triens?

Wolf and Twins on the As and unusually fine

Aes grave semis - post semilibral. The two dots are the inflexion point of the corvus on deck.

Some nice provenances. The aureus ex Recamier who died in 1873, his coll sold by Bourgey in 1925. The mercury on rock ex VJE Ryan, 1952. Others yet to discover

I have found before that plate Dalers (this is a 2 Daler coin) make unusually nice backgrounds to coin pics but be exceptionally careful not to scratch the coins placed on top.

Very nice haul Andrew. Something for everyone in this lot. Strikingly beautiful two tone green patina on the RRC 187/2 PVR bronze.
