I listed these coins on craigslist.com EDITED--Sorry but no Self-Promotion . I got a email from a guy who wants to buy the silver but he told me that i'm asking for too much. Is my prices a little high?

I don't think they're too high except maybe for the 2007 Unc Silver Eagles. I've seen these go for around $20.

You may be a little low on the '06 and '07 Clad Proof Sets (if they're the 10 piece and 14 piece sets, respectively).

I'm not familiar with pricing on the other coins But I can comment on these here:

Ten: 2007 W Uncirulated Silver American Eagles $24.00 Each
Two: 2007 W Proof Silver American Eagles $30.00 Each
Two: 2006 W Proof Silver American Eagles $30.00 Each

You don't list the silver eagles grade so to any serious buyers, it's just bullion rate or mayble $1 over. So you're really looking at about $18-19 each. You also don't say if they're slabbed or not. If you'd list a pr68 - pr70 you might get a whole bunch more. I pay up to $90 for some pr70's if the year and timing is right. They sell on some web sites for as much as $239 each.

Maybe on the unc eagles, but I beleive the proofs go for more than $19.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to lower the Uncirc SAE to $21.00.

It's the buyer's 'job' to convince the seller that they're overpricing. You could get a baseline value by getting an offer from a local coin dealer.

    Why do you say that?

Do some looking around price guides and web sites. The proofs cost quite a bit more than the regular unc coins. Even the mint charges $31.95 for them.

Proof eagles are $26 to $32 in my area. Uncirculated go for $18 to $22. Hope that helps.

I think we need more information here. 1) If the coin is not slabbed, How did you determine that the coin is a proof? and not just MS or UNC? 2) what kind of packaging was the coin in? 3) what was the description of the coin when you purchased it?

Unless you could somehow justify the grading of the coin then you must take the minimum value of it. And that value, with todays current silver rate is no more than $20.

In this case, proof is not a grade, its a method of manufacturing, and it is easy for even a beginner to tell a regular silver eagle from a proof one. Not to mention that the proof ones come in really nice cases from the mint, with COA's, so that is another easy way to determine that its a proof. And, as I stated previously, the proof eagles go for in the neihgborhood of 30 bucks. Not slightly over melt like the unc ones.

    Haleiwa,
I got these SAE directly form the ment in 2006 & 2007. They are all in the OGP and kept in a smoke free home. None of these SAE are graded.

P.S sorry but I wasn't trying to promote anything here. I was just asking what would be fair prices to sell them on craigslist. Once again I am sorry if it seemed that way.

And they don't need to be graded to determine that they are proof coins, and sell for well over $20 a piece. Thats the point I was trying to make in my third post in this thread.
