I purchased about 10,000 steel cents a while back and just got around to rolling them. I wasn’t even looking at them but I could feel the depressed area on the obverse of this 1943 cent. I don’t collect errors so let me know it this was done at the mint or the way too often heard term PMD.

    Thanks 4A85EF9D-7F11-4A23-AF3C-73EB352210D8.jpeg 83CBF8B6-0F01-462F-8548-8FEBDE897E70.jpeg

    Congrats !

Looks like a brockage strike or an indent.

If you can see reversed incused lettering inside
that area (I can't tell if it's lettering or staining)
    it's a Brockage Strike.

If you can't see any incused reversed lettering,
it's an Indented Strike (from another unstuck planchet
laying over this piece when it was struck)

Nice error, very very scarce on Steel Cents.
The discoloration and staining will affect the value.

Really nice Brockage. I think I see the letter O of the word ONE.

    Thanks for sharing!

So should this coin be sent in to be slabbed, even with the staining?

    Not with that staining.
