I was looking through one of my safes and found this half. I don't even know if it's real. It weighs 14.1 grams on my scale. It also has a ring to it when i drop it on my desk. I would appreciate any help with this one..Here's a few pics. Thanks, .... John

What you have is the last year of the lettered-edge Bust Half Dollar. It looks genuine to me.

In the Red book it says the weight for BHs is 13.48 grams , is 14.1 grams in tolerence for BHs , it certainley looks real , especially that weak spot on the eagles right wing , I have a PCGS BH with the same weakness .

It should be 13.48 grams. Diameter 32.5 mm. Anybody know the tolerances?

Have you calibrated the scale lately?

The wear sure looks real. Especially on the edge. It looks like it's been passed around a while. Nothing stands out to me.

That's a really nice one. I don't know how you guys find these types of things 'lying around'.
