    Well, yes. One can imagine what that would be like. OTOH I am surprised that a certain present day monarch in training has not started to strike coins in his image, maybe with a FEL TEMP REPARATIO reverse in English, which is close to a certain modern phrase in intent.

    The coin pictured below is a 1st issue Tetradrachm of Trebonianus Gallus, AD 251, like the coin posted by Pellinore, however, his coin was minted by the 6th officina & mine was minted by the 1st officina. One unusual feature with both of these coins is both obverse & reverse have officina marks o_O. In the case of Pellinore's coin it's the letter S, with my coin a single dot is used on the obverse & the letter A is used on the reverse. Another unusual feature for the Tets of Gallus is no coins from Antioch were struck from the 5th officina, but they were struck from officina 1-4 & 6-7, this also applies to the double denarii struck at Antioch o_O. McAlee speculates that the workers from officina 5 could have defected with the usurper Uranius Antoninus to Emesa, Syria to set up a mint at that location. Food for thought....
