I was just looking at this, and noticed it looked kind of "funky" if you know what I mean. I was either thinking it was an ex jewelry piece, of maybe even a counterfeit! http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-1875-20-CE...yZ149932QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Thanks!
I'll sum up my thoughts... "That can't be real, because if it was, it would be worth a lot of money !" :smile Yes... No... Probably... Yes funky. No bid. Probably counterfeit.
It looks counterfeit to me, possibly a HTF copy worth a lot of cash. What's strange is the High-Bidder has surprisingly high FeedBack. http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....e=PageBidderProfileViewBids_None_ViewItemLink
I don't like the way the denticles look or the breast of the eagle but the Twenty-cent pieces always look funny to me so maybe it's authentic but if it is authentic, the area where the mint mark would normally be, looks like it has had a mint mark removed and considering the S mint had 1.155 million minted, compared to 37 thousand for the Philly mint, and the S mint is reasonably cheap, you have to watch out for removed mint marks on 1875-P Twenty-cent pieces. So if it's fake, don't buy it and if it's authentic, don't buy it. Ribbit Ps: Just in case I wasn't clear, I would not recommend buying the OP coin. Pps: What's up with the doubled looking Y in TWENTY? :kewl:
Toad , you been smoking them plants around the swamp again ?:kewl::hail: Should he buy that coin ? rzage:whistle::smile:hatch::hammer:
Sure we can just a little extra spices added .:whistle:never can be sure about substitutes though if they're the real thing . That coin would give us the dailey recomended amount of iron though . rzage:smile:hatch::hammer:
Ryan I don't know if you should buy it , better ask Toad .:hail::smile:whistle: rzage:smile:hatch::hammer:
