That's a very sharp-looking '09S-VDB, Mike. Congratulations. Are you going to leave it in the folder or get it slabbed?

Okay, I can see them now. If authentic (I can't see the S that well), then I'd say AU. Nice coin!! :thumb:

Im going to leave it in the album. I know its is at least an xf and genuine through numerous coin experts and my own research. Im going to try and have an entire xf album. Really going to try and get up to the 31-S before 2009. Should be pretty easy as I work in a coin shop.

Now, if you work in a coin shop, well then, we may have hit the jackpot with what you've seen and the stories you can tell us. We have other CTers that constantly regale us with the working of coin shops and the human experience that prevails in that milieu. I, personally, along with many other CTers await your tales. (or heads ups).

1914-D is the next one im getting. Im trying for a XF we have a couple F-VF in right now. The VF is PCGS slabbed. I got a pretty good deal on the S VDB. Traded 50 oz's of silver at 17.25 or so an oz. Got it for a liitle under grey sheet bid at the time.. Even better... I was into the silver at about 12.00 an oz. My boss is the best. He takes into consideration all the hard work I do. Usually I can get Gold/Silver at or just below spot.
I have been there for a little over a year and a half. Last year for my birthday he gave me a 14K bracelet that is 36.5 grams.
We also have a possible 22 no D that I found out of a recent purchase that someone overlooked. We are waiting on it to see what it comes back as.. Maybe a lay away for me...

I do have lots of tales to tell.... Alot are similar to what I have read on here. People who buy from littleton, coinvault, franklin mint and so on.
Come in to the shop and suddenly we are the bad guys trying to rip them off.. Usually I can explain what happened and why there 1500.00 purchase 3 years ago is now only worth 300.00 at best, and thats pushin it as I feel bad for them and usually offer a bit more than usual for that kind of stuff. I could go on for a while... But Ill cut it short as I have already rambled quite a bit..

Nice coins, Mike. A solid XF Lincoln collection will be a pretty nice set.

    What a start!!!
    Very nice.
But then, that's the rcommended way to start collecting an issue.
Go for the keys/semi-keys, then fill around them.
