Here are some recent acquisitions in my Coins and Medals of France Collection. These are from the time known as La Belle Époque.

I particularly like the portrait on the Madagascar medal.

Even though you didn't mention medals in your title, I thought I'd include a few.

Great post Deacon, among my favorite the French Art Nouveau period. I have a few coins from the 1890s and earlier in my Ceres head collection. IMG_20200127_130615.jpg IMG_20200127_130927.jpg

You’re most welcome, @Cucumbor ! My joy and pleasure. I’m planning to post more soon. I’ve had a fascination with French art and history since my childhood. It probably started when my parents gave me a big beautiful book about Napoleon. It had lots of illustrations featuring portraits, colorful uniforms, and maps. I would sit and look at that book for hours and copy my favorite illustrations using my watercolors. As I got older—in my early teens, I decided that I wanted to join the French Foreign Legion. Later on, when I attended Art School, I became fascinated with French Impressionism. I decided to visit France and tour the many museums—including the World War One battlefields. One of the museums I visited was the Musée de l'Armée in Paris and from then on I developed an interest in French Militaria.

Thank you, for posting your beautiful coins. I really like the 20 francs coins with the roosters. I like them for their designs although the fact they are gold is nice too ;)
