Okay, this is the 1943 steel cent i will be using for my small cent type set (for now anyways). I am guessing MS-63: Another one for the type set...This one because I needed one that is zinc, it is my birthyear also... very nice coins...I am guessing a MS-67 RD: This is the 1950-D Jefferson I traded for. I am thinking MS-62 with FS on this one: plmk what you guys think, stainless
#1, hard to tell, but I'll say MS-65. #2, also tough to tell, but gut for some reason is saying MS-66, possibly a 67. #3, if not AU, then I'll say MS-64 ?Full Steps?. Nice coins! :thumb: Phoenix
It could be, but the guy I got it off of said it was BU, There is such a fine line between AU-55 to MS-63 that it is very hard to tell, especially with cents
Either Jeff is circulated, it's a very weak strike, or a very worn die. It's missing a lot of detail.
i red in the ANA grading guide that the 1950 are weak strikes a lot of the time....it looks as if it has FS si IDK...I guess I will know more when I get the coin in hand stainless
That 1950-D Jefferson is a weakly-struck, late die state (LDS) coin. It very well could be uncirculated, but I cannot tell from the picture. It is not unusual to see fully developed steps on 1950-D nickels, even if they are poorly struck elsewhere. I would count the steps on this piece 5-5-5-5, but there are a couple of nicks that would prevent some people from calling it full steps.
Yeah I think it is just weak struck...so if the steps have any marks on them at all they are no longer FS? stainless
seriously, I am not fond of Jefferson nickels, I think they are ugly. But those Lincoln cents are looking nice! nice grabs
