hi since i've been hearing about all the sucess that people have been having with customer rolled rolls lately does anyone know of branches of banks that would be more likely to have them? any help would be greatly appreciated
key bank has always been good too me, they don't have a trade in limit (some have a limit of 50 or 100 traded for change if you are not a customer) but i have been too 3 of them in central new york and they have all been very helpful, and very pleasant too deal with. give em a try if you have one near you. jmc
Most all banks will take change in from customers, some banks will take change in from anyone. I think you have equal chances from any bank, whether they get the change from customers or even the reserve.
Go for whatever you feel will help. But I really think stories of customer-rolled coins is the stuff told around the campfire before the roll-hunters turn in for the night. I've had great finds from all kinds of rolls, in change from Wal-Mart and getting quarters at the local laundramat.
customer......................... this article can help you. http://coins.about.com/od/coinbuyingadvice/qt/coins_from_bank.htm?nl=1
I got a 1953 quarter from the change machine at the local video arcade. In an ironic twist of fate, the only other washington quarter I have in my collection is also a 1953.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it. Go to Chase bank. Go to small towns. Go and visit a few banks and start an account at the one where you see the most old people to up your odds. (hint, go early in the day). Also, Walmart,Meijer (found whole roll of new 08 cents) and gas stations/party stores next to trailer parks and apartment complexes are good. I'm finding nicer, older nickels and cents in customer wrapped rolls, but not alot of wheats or war nickels. However, I did find 1943 steel cent in customer roll today and have done really well at customer wrapped halves! Good luck. This msg will self destruct in 7.9 seconds
thanks a bunch TheNoost! hopefully i can hit it big somewhere since i cant afford to buy alot getting stuff for face would be great!
I don't know what part of the country you live in...but I can guarantee you that US Bank will not have any customer rolled coins (depending on your location, you may have US Banks or not). That's because they don't accept them rolled. I'm a teller at US Bank and if you bring in rolled coins to cash in I will take them to the back, break open the rolls, and dump them into the change machine. Once the coins have been ran, I give the cash to the customer. So, if your looking for customer rolled coins, don't even bother with US. The bank's policy is to run all non-US Bank rolled coins through the machine. I don't know how other banks work.
