What's up with me. First World Coins and now Paper Money? I've always wanted an example of these so I bought them today at work. Hope you like them. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0001-8.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0002-7.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0003-7.jpg First I needed notes to compare them to. These consecutives worked nicely. Then I bought this one. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0004-5.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0005-5.jpg Well, since I went that far why not get the Devil's Head Two Dollar note as well? http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0006-5.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0008-5.jpg Man, have these things gone up. Especially in this condition. Looked them up so the boss could see. First thing he says is "we need to put them on ebay". Trying to explain that I want these for the clembo collection. Then it's "you put them on ebay and we'll split the profit". Finally convince him to just sell them to me and he says "you should make a few bucks on them". Funny guy at times. It finally sank in that these were going no further than my house! Lovely notes and I got a good price. clembo
Im not sure how much you paid, but that 1$ devil face H/A is a uncommon prefix. Worth 115 in AU compared to a generic 60. I cant grade that note, because I am not good at grading. But I know it is at least an AU. UNC is 220 CUnc is 260 and Gunc is 300. These are from the 2008 edition, I don't have the 2009 yet.
Whoa Zabb! Any more information on these would be SINCERELY appreciated. I/We at the shop are not experts in Canadian paper money. I went by the unc listings in the World Paper money guide at work. I've done my share of U.S. paper. These should go as uncirculated or better IMHO. The "non devils" listed at $12.50 each. The "devil head" $1 note listed at $37.50 (more common signature). The $2 note listed at $110 due to a tougher signature combination. I also purchased 2 U.S. 1950-D U.S. Jefferston nickels in uncirculated and 100 2x2s with this transaction. Total cost was $100 U.S. Now I KNOW the boss made money on these. BELIEVE ME On the other hand did I unknowingly cherry pick him? Seems I learned a bit about Canadian paper today.
very awsome note Dan!!! and an even better price You and a few others have got the PERFECT jobs for finding cool items. Certainly i get envious
I just recently picked up a $1 "Devil's Head" note that looks to be UNC at least for just $10. Not sure exactly what it is worth....if I get the chance later today I will scan and post it here for others..... Smaugy.
Great deals guys! Seems we've all done pretty well. http://cgi.ebay.com/1954-CANADA-DEV...oryZ3429QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
magman, it is very tough to see, heck, i can only see it at times. if you do a search for devils hair or something like that, someone did an image a while ago where they circled the area in question. once you see it, your like wow
ok magman, its a crude image done in MS Paint (the machine i have here with photoshop on it is busy churing other data. i copied the image from the ebay link clembo gave its the one i could most clearly see the face lol see if you can see it here: (wherever it shows up)
Finally got my note scanned this morning when I had a few minutes that I could sit at the regular computer to scan the note. Not the UNC that I had hoped for but still in very great shape. Here you go:
