I think I've developed a sort of pet peeve. People asking personal questions about their precious metals. One person here seems to have made it their personal obsession. How much gold do you have? How much silver do you own? Where do you store your P.M.'s? Do you use a safe deposit box or store it at home? What kind of safe do you own? Is your safe bolted to the ground or in a wall? Of course, no one has to answer these questions seriously. But don't you think these prying questions are a bit of a concern? Sorry, but I do. This is a different world than the one I grew up in. I would not trust anyone with this info and especially someone who constantly asks the same questions. And my concern does not center on those that are smarter than answering these questions but newcomers who may not understand the implications of answering.

NOYB would be my answer. I'm extremely guarded in giving out my personal information and would report the person asking these types of questions.

I also don't think they should ask where anything is kept at all. Unless they just want a good recommendation for a storage safe or box.

I noticed a post recently that I thought was a bit odd in the way questions about storage was asked. I considered them prying questions at least. I ignored it.

Yes, it's a problem! He was being slick. He asked me for my address. I fooled him, I gave him yours! icon_smile_roflmao.gif

From your avatar I'dve guessed it'd be something more like "At the bottom of the riverbed, overwatched through the sight of my Dimick, resting on the railing of my cabin porch and backed by my right shoulder, comfortably supported by my red oak rocker."

Without knowing who in particular we're talking about, I assume it's just someone with an obsessive interest and absolutely no ability to perceive how his questions and comments are perceived by others.

I know many of us will be aghast at the notion that someone interested in coins or bullion could have poor social skills, but...

Ever been to a show or coin club? Look close at some of those people. You'll see what @-jeffB means.

I'm retired and home 95% or more of the time. When I do leave, it's not for long. I have guns and lots of ammunition so if you think your life is worth it please stop by for a visit. As I always say, there are 4 precious metals. Gold, silver, copper and lead. If I need to explain that then you need to stay away.

I couldn't care less about what you've got, how much you've got, where you store it or how you store it.

All I'd like to know is your full name, SS#, DOB and address. :)

Oh yeah, for the sake of privacy, just PM me ;)

I'm heavily invested in multiple PMs including Plutonium and Polonium and such. I'm lucky though as my safe helps to light the entire house so my electricity bill is really low. The Polonium helps heat my house in the winter time too & boil water.

Now that I think of it, I thought I was buying Platinum and not Plutonium, and Palladium and not Polonium. oops. No wonder my neighbors moved away and their houses lay deserted. :(
