Interesting CoinWorld article - https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...ages-of-2020-w-quarter-dollar-with-privy-mark Let's see how many threads we get with newbies thinking they found some kind of mint error! @myownprivy
this is going to make it so much harder now to counterfeit our quarters .... Are they going to start sprouting different releases of various privy marks now ? Much faster changes than new designs. Those Dansco albums are going to end up being encyclopedic per year ...
I already posted about this but now I'm glad to see what the privy looks like (hot garbage btw). Also, coinworld really needs someone to QC their "articles" before they are posted. They are constantly full of errors: "The 2020-W National Bank of American Samoa quarter dollars"
I'm looking forward to hunting for the 2020-W quarters after having found a small number of the 2019-W quarters. Boxes of quarters are much more available to me than boxes of halves. Especially now that one of my source banks will no longer be ordering halves for me. Plus, I have been adding to my collection of state quarter errors and proofs in the process. And, I will be following @furryfrog02 and his continuing dominance in the W quarter hunt!
Now of course next year they will have to have a different privy mark and they will have W coins w privy and W coins w/o privy.
I think I would like this idea more if the coin design reflected the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII like this:
A limited number minted with the design incuse instead of in relief. (I was going to suggest my "reverse clad" idea again, with the copper on the outside, but that would require more legislation.)
Eww... ever worse than I thought it was going to look. At least it will make them easier to find. I'd love to find and sell some. But I have no desire to keep any.
