I used the search feature and could not find a thread for Mercury Dimes so I figured I would start one.

I just purchased my first, a PCGS G4 1916-D. I look forward to adding others in the near future!

    Post yours!

Even though the last post on the thread was only a few days ago it had been pushed down to Page 5 on the Coin Chat forum. Very easy to miss.

I don't know if it is damage or die chips or what. But, it is one of my favorite Mercury Dimes.

I recall hunting a H.U.D. house's yard years ago and digging a really beautiful AU 1916 Merc.
It came out of the ground Obverse Up & I was so excited, I placed it on the front seat of my car driving all the way back home, without looking at the reverse.
For that brief drive, I had great enjoyment 'Not Knowing' and wishing with all my might for a great outcome/reveal.
As you probably have guessed, it was only a Philly mint Merc....but still a nice find.
I would have several other Merc. finds that were exciting, (I.E. 1942, hoping for the 42 over 1 variety)...but Alas, No luck there as well.
