I have a couple of coin having a problem with hazing.. I’m going through my coin and putting them in some air tights but I want to remove the hazing on some of my proofs and acetone is not working. Coin below has soaked for 1.5 hours and no change. And thoughts!? Is the damage done?
Yeah honestly I thought it about it but I thought you use it after a dip. I never use it and really haven’t seen results of it....
This is why folks are told to not clean coins. It takes time to learn the proper way. You should stop now until you learn.
Perhaps it's a bit nit picky but that's way beyond haze ! And to be honest I doubt MS70 would do much good as the toning is way too advanced, but you can try it as it sure won't hurt anything. My opinion, if you're gonna do anything, the coin needs to be dipped. And MS70 is not a coin dip. it's way, way milder than coin dip.
It’s not as bad as the photo looks that is right above the coin I have several coin that I have noticed that this hazing is happening too clad and silver. I figure I’ll get them cleaned up before I put them in Airtights. They are in 2x2 now is that what is causing them to haze?
I've never had any coins in 2 x 2's that hazed like that. A proper dip and rinse should clear it up. Probably something on the coin before you got it. Best wishes on clearing them up from the hazing.

First ya need to understand that haze is nothing more than one of the beginning stages of toning. Then you need to realize that while it can sometimes be "what" the coin is stored in, toning is far more often due to environmental conditions unique to the location of where the coin is stored. Ya see, where your town is, what's in your town, that determines the general air quality, And the same for your home, everything, literally everything from the paint on your walls to the carpet in the floor, your furniture, what you cook and how you cook it, to the type of heating, A/C, the type of kitchen range you have - literally everything - determines environmental conditions specific to your home - which is where the coin is stored. And then you have the storage method to worry about on top of all of that. Bottom line, air is the enemy of coins, and of course that includes everything in the air. Without a doubt, he dipped it, plain and simple.
Probably Ezest, Daniel from coinhelpu has a video about this. I believe this is the trade secret product used by jewelers. It could also be steamed too I guess.
