my first woody i think.

    i went to a coin shop yesterday and bought a few coins, this is the one i think is a woody 1916. what do you guys think? is it or not?

    abolutley, and I think it looks amazing, I seriously love those coins.
    and am personally very happy that someone we all know put a woody section on his website...

    Yep, that's one.
    I wouldn't want all my cents to look like that, but a couple are fine.
    I've got one good one and a couple marginals.

    Thats an oddball

    The " woodiness" is caused by the actual planchet material not being properly mixed, the grain runs THRU the planchet......

    in this case, the grain disappears where there is wear

    edit: there is a woodgrain look in the fields for sure
