Nice find, I've been looking but no luck. I think I'm no where near the release area which I heard was in the south to midwest near Alabama to Missouri. Location helps find these varieties.

User - where did you find this cent ??

That's a coin that needs to be in a slab. Is that exposed zinc on the Memorial? or corrosion? Maybe some restoration? Cool find. I would use PCGS as they tend to have the best resale. Cool find! Makes you wonder how many are still out there?

I think corrosion. So what do you think it's worth ?

User - must feel good to find something great once in a while. See - your in the Midwest - Location helps find particular varieties. With myself being upstate NY - slim chance on finding this variety - did find a 84 double ear and 88 RDV-006 which are easier in the Northeast but anything is possible

You really think it's worth restoring who does that kind of work on coins?

Not sure, depends on the grade and if the corrosion can be mitigated.

Will The corrosion get worse? Ball park figure maybe what it's worth? 5 dollers? 1000 dollers? I understand it's got to be slabbed and graded and put up for auction to know its true value. I don't plan on selling it.

It's possible for all corrosion to get worse. Even if you are keeping it. I would have it slabbed to protect it.

Yes feels good. It will be some thing to hand down to my family, also very cool to add on to my shelf. Might not be worth 1k but it marks the time my coin machine took a crap on me.. Lol

I see on ebay the cheapest is ~ 300 . But they are a little better condition. Ebay does show others but not sure because of the picture or the seller has no history. NGC does have a conservation dept too. I used them once for a 1999 wide am which needed help but it was not grade-able coin because of a problem which yours probably couldn't get the grade just a genuine variety slab

I will have it slabbed so it don't get worse and thank you everyone for your help. Have a good day!

I took into coin store near me, was told it's not worth 2 cents. Nobody wants 1992 d close am. I figured that's what they would say that.
