At the FUN show this past weekend, I set up my first numismatic exhibit. As you have probably guessed, it was about ancient Chinese coins, particularly those surrounding the story of Wang Mang. His coins represent a specialty of mine, and I think he has a fantastic story. It was a competitive exhibit, but I did not place. It wasn’t because I did poorly, but it was because others did better (and were rightfully scored higher). There were some beautiful exhibits there. Without further ado, here is my exhibit:
Wow, nicely done! ...& didn't place??? I'm going to have to try to make a show sometime & see what the competition looks like.
Nice exhibit! It is clean, simple and easy to read. You should be proud. Being in the museum field myself (although not directly working in a museum) what I hear from museum exhibit professionals in meetings is sometimes there is a tendency on the part of museum staff when constructing an exhibit to be too text heavy. I obviously don't know what the competition submitted but I like what I see and congratulations on all of the hard work and passion it took to put this together. Steve S.
A lovely exhibit. Congrats on putting this together it is lovely. I have exhibited a few times and I know how much work it is to put something like this together.
