So I have come across this 1969 d quater. The composition says 5.67grams. I just weight this one and its 6 grams exactly. Is this weird? Also I'd love to here some light shed on the 69 quater as I hear it's a harder date.
It is rarer in mint state. Circulated pieces are plentiful, especially with a mintage of over 176 million.
6.0 grams would be slightly overweight on a scale that measured only with 2 or 3 decimals, but if it only measured one decimal, it normally round to the nearest. So a 5.95grams ( which is within the normal range as I remember) would round off as 6.0 grams , and any corrosion would add small amounts of weight. Also one should use the calibration weight which came with the scale to be sure they are accurately determining the weight. Drop the balance on the table once and it can be off a gram or more
Depends what the point of the endeavor is. If the idea is to "Strike It Rich With Pocket Change", sorry, ain't no such thing.
No definitely not trying to strike it rich I'm interesting collecting every year and any doubles I'll sell off I'm really only collecting s mints at the moment as I heard that they're mostly the better ones
I have 2 1963 Nickels that the G in God looks like a C. The mark that makes it a G is missing. One is a black beauty Nickel same way
