OK, since copper plated zinc pennies do not have lamination issues, would this be a long bubble where the plating did not adhere properly? 20200112_202450.jpg 20200112_202606.jpg 20200112_221451.jpg

A Linear Plating Blister is what I have seen them called.

Actually.. I know I mentioned about copper plated zinc planchets that they don't have Laminations but there are very rare samples of them. Yours looks like it could be one.. Let me tag a few members that might be able to confirm or not

Here is a controversial example that I own for a 1984

    JCro57 Making Errors Great Again

I believe it IS possible to have a lamination on a zinc cent. However, in my opinion, the separated copper should have copper underneath it. In other words, the copper layer should be separating from the rest of the layer. But if the copper plating reveals zinc under the lamination, in my opinion it is a plating issue and not a lamination error.

Or possibly it is a lamination error if it separates. Maybe a plating issue means the copper never stuck in the first place. Lots of questions and debate here.

As for the OP's coin, the photo is simply not detailed enough for me to see. The same goes for Paddy's as I simply cannot see under the separation.

I don't see a separation, only a missing copper spot, where it appears to show the zinc. aaaaaaaa.jpg aaaaaaaaa.jpg

Sure looks like one but whatever it is, it's neat and a definite keeper. :)
