1944 d silver penny

    Found this today didn't feel right so I weighed it out weight 2.7

    Clearly just normal copper. Corroded enough to lose a little weight.

    Corrosion made it weigh less. Not silver nor steel.

    But it sticks to magnet but just one side the back. Does the front but the back pop sticks hard and fast.

    Could be a little rust imbedded in it or something then making it slightly magnetic, it is definitely a normal copper cent though.

    First photo is clearly copper.
    Besides loss of weight from corrosion, it could be a slightly thinner planchet.
    Not a steelie.
