Wow.. Really nice. I can make one just like it.

Over $5000.00 is a bit too much IMHO

Have you made any before? If so, I'd really like to see them. I wish I had the ability to make one.

I'm curious to know how much it cost to have that custom-fit Capital Plastics holder made. ~ Chris

That is coin heaven from where I'm sitting! Thanks for making my anxiety level go up @Ike Skywalker! ;)

I like the way the originator wrote the word ERROR.

  18. looking at the shadows, I think the coins are just between two clear plates bolted together as shown around the perimeter, with no center plate.

I don’t see how that would be possible, due to the different thickness of the coins.

It’s an interesting collection, but I agree it seems pretty steep at all $5520 ($153 per coin). I do think this is one case where there’s a bit of value in the collection as a whole, and there is the matter of the holder itself. The holder probably runs at least a couple hundred. OTOH, you could send 36 error coins to ANACS on special for probably $500, I would think.

As for the coins, not knowing a ton about errors, I kind of wonder if you couldn’t put together a comparable set for half the price if you were willing to invest the time. Anybody got any thoughts on that?
